Largest London Borough Seeks Littlefish

The London Borough of Croydon, the capital’s largest borough by number of households, has signed a £multi-million deal with Managed Services Provider, Littlefish.

Littlefish is delivering Service Desk and End User Compute services to 4,500 users across the Council, based on a three-year contract.

David Webster, Senior Service Account Manager at Littlefish said: “To enable us to hit the ground running Littlefish undertook a herculean task to gather, digest, query, and learn the Council’s applications and their way of working through the onboarding process. A genuine doff of the cap to the old adage, ‘time spent on reconnaissance is seldom wasted’. Now we safely have the baton it is time to look ahead and partner with The Croydon Digital Service to help deliver a truly forward thinking, digital borough council.”

With a total workforce of 10,500 staff, including social workers, school-teachers and planning officers, Croydon Council is the largest employer in the borough. Spending over £900 million per year, the council makes a major contribution to the local economy.

Neil Williams, Chief Digital Officer for The Croydon Digital Service said: “We’re blown away by how good the service has been, right from the off. These emphatic words are supported by impressive early-life service statistics: in the first thirty days of live service, across thousands of customer engagements, greater than 94% of interactions were rated by service users as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.

London Borough of Croydon needs Littlefish’s expertise as it disaggregates its IT service provision, in a move to return control and governance back to the Council. By moving away from the ‘usual suspect’ global IT outsourcers, the Council is looking for greater flexibility and agility in the delivery of IT services that support its diverse range of users.
