The Computing Women in IT Excellence Awards celebrates and promotes female talent in technology, whilst aiming to inspire more women to join the industry. Now in its third year, the awards have already celebrated the achievements of over 500 women. The 2019 event was held at The Brewery in London on 27 November.
For the ‘Security Leader of the Year 2019’ award, Computing sought out the UK industry’s most stand-out women in IT security, who have had a demonstrative effect on the constant mission to keep organisations, stakeholders and end users safe from malicious attackers and increasing cyber-crime.
Katy Hinchcliffe, picture above (left), said “To be named Security Leader of the Year is an incredible honour and a fantastic surprise! It is a great privilege to be amongst the winners and nominees on the night who are leading the way in inspiring the next generation.”
Richard Roome, Littlefish Services Director and Co-Owner, said “This award underlines Katy’s exceptional contribution since joining Littlefish nearly 18 months ago, which has involved establishing Littlefish’s Cyber Security services arm, and growing our Cyber revenues significantly and consistently. More recently, Katy has launched our new Cyber Security Operations Centre, promoting a number of internal candidates into her growing team in the process.”
Katy Hinchcliffe continued, “We are looking forward to continued growth in 2020 and beyond, as we increase our number of cyber security customers working with both new and existing customers.”
