Two Factor Authentication (2FA) Services

As passwords can be readily shared, stolen or guessed, a more comprehensive mechanism is required to secure user access. Two-factor authentication (2FA) uses more than one method of validating the identity and authenticity of a user, thus ensuring secure access to systems, regardless of location. Auditing is enabled to trace all authentication activity allowing you to ensure that only trusted people are gaining access.

As opposed to the historic method of static passwords, with 2FA users input their pre-defined PIN (which they have created), and then a one-time passcode generated from a key-fob or app on their smartphone. If the two sync to the authentication system then the user is granted access to the system.

Littlefish offer AuthAnvil ™ 2FA services.  These services can help your business meet security compliance objectives (such as ISO27001, PCI or SOx) as they provide you with complete oversight of who accessed what and when within your network.

  • Improve Security – minimise the use of increasingly insecure static passwords
  • Lower Risk – Reduce the likelihood of unwanted intrusion or unscrupulous activity in your network
  • Reduce Data Theft – Avoid data theft and the reputational and operational damage this can cause
  • Increase Flexibility -  Allow personnel to work remotely without compromising perimeter security

With the prevalence of smartphones using two-factor authentication is simple to adopt. The solution supports most smartphones, including the following:

  • Apple iOS
  • Android
  • Blackberry
  • Windows Mobile

If you don’t have a smartphone then you can use a YubiKey or hardware key-fob token to generate the one-time password.
