A Little Introduction
Richard Hutchings is an enthusiastic motorsport fanatic and enjoys spending time with his young family. As Littlefish Chief Technology Officer he is responsible for technical strategy, design, and delivery of solutions. Richard has over 20 years’ experience covering technical consultancy / design / implementation, people management and enterprise class service management.
He spent his early career as an applications developer for a global pharmaceutical company, specialising in COBOL and visual basic for global mainframe operations. Following this Richard made the progression within the same organisation across to the Windows/Novell platforms support team to assist with a large scale infrastructure deployment project.
He then spent 11 years working for Capita IT Services (formerly ComputerLand) in a multitude of senior roles for key customers spanning the finance, retail, manufacturing, & telecommunications markets.
Richard has managed & deployed multiple large scale multi-national enterprise infrastructure programmes, as he was the UK Infrastructure Services Manager for the Telefonica (O2) managed services contract. This position encompassed full operational & strategic ownership for over 1,000 servers geographically situated across 3 strategically located datacentres.
As the technical Director for Littlefish he has overseen the transformation of toolsets, process and culture to deliver an exceptional technical services platform to facilitate business growth, flexibility and continuity.
During his extensive career, Richard has held a range of key senior positions working with a number of prestigious clients, including:
- Infrastructure services manager for Telefonica (O2) UK
- Service delivery manager for British Sugar
- Service delivery manager for Citi Group/Egg Banking
- Senior technical consultant for Experian Limited
Whilst working for Littlefish Richard has helped organisations such as F&B, Signet Group (H Samuel/Ernest Jones), and NSK (a global automotive manufacturer) to formulate and implement successful ICT strategies.
