Customer Stories: Food Standards Agency

The Food Standards Agency (FSA), the non-ministerial government department responsible for food safety and food hygiene across the UK, has partnered with Littlefish, a ‘disruptor’ in the managed IT services market, to deliver IT support to 1,200 staff across its London, Cardiff, Belfast and York offices and its meat hygiene facilities.

As part of the two-year deal, procured through the Technical Services framework, Littlefish will manage the service desk, modern workplace and network infrastructure management provision. Littlefish will also conduct a series of transformation projects including a Microsoft Office 365 migration and an End User device estate refresh.

Prior to the agreement, the FSA implemented a single source model for its ICT managed services. However, in line with guidance from the Government Digital Service, the FSA is now disaggregating to a multi supplier model. This will enable it to control its own IT management better and facilitate the adoption of a more flexible, innovative and better value supply chain and new ways of working.

We selected Littlefish to provide a 24/7 service desk to deliver IT support to our staff, end user compute to provide the latest technology to enable location independent working and network infrastructure management to ensure the network is optimal and always available.
